When we moved into our current location in 1990, our goal for this little pile of hundred and fifty year-old bricks was to create the ideal writer's studio. At last, we'd be free to shelve all our reference books! We'd even be free to add to our collection! Quite in keeping with the phrase Too much freedom isn't necessarily a good thing, our wide-ranging, arcane, esoteric reference section has never stopped growing and is now gigantic.

Whether our writers are engaged in work-for-hire or pursuing their own specialties and interests, we're probing our reference materials constantly. Our access to The Book Shop's nearly sixty-five-thousand other titles doesn't hurt either. And, then there's the internet, an amazing source of information for those who speak the language, and our writers average several hours a day online.
